OUR COMMITMENT TO THE ENVIRONMENT

It is a little cliche to say that we care about the environment these days and in our business it is hard to live up to….there’s a lot of waste in the building industry and for the most part, paint waste has never been great for the environment. However, we do care about the world we leave behind us so here’s what we are doing about it:

Firstly when it comes to paint selection it is important to us to consider the air we breathe. VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) are included in paint formulations as they play a part in how paint performs, particularly with brush ability and drying time. However, they can be damaging to indoor air quality and can have a particular adverse reaction for people suffering with Asthma and other allergies, so wherever possible we will always select paint with low levels of VOC’s.

Secondly, we offset our carbon footprint - reducing our carbon footprint is not an easy task and there will always be some emissions that are unavoidable. However, donating a percentage of our profits from each project to Greenfleet enables them to plant native forests, which in turn capture carbon emissions from the atmosphere, reduce the impacts of climate change, improve soil and water quality, and restore habitats for our natural wildlife.
